Is there are swimming pool at Sakatia Lodge?

No, we do not have a swimming pool at Sakatia Lodge

When is Sakatia Lodge closed?

Sakatia Lodge closes half January until half March.

Is there a nanny service available at Sakatia Lodge?

Yes, there is a nanny service available; 4 hours: 10.000 MGA | 8 hours: 20.000 MGA (per child).

Do all the bungalows have mosquito nets?

Yes, all the bungalows have mosquito nets.

Do you provide beach towels?

Yes, we do provide towels for the beach.

Do you have 24 hours of electricity?

The Lodge runs on generators. Our generator times are: 09h00 – 14h30 and 17h00 – 01h00. There are two bungalows (Villa Ranomasy and Villa Tonga Soa) that have 24 hours of electricity.

Is Sakatia Lodge wheelchair accessible?

No, the Lodge is not accessible for wheelchairs.

Is there WiFi available at Sakatia Lodge?

Yes, we do have free, unlimited WiFi available at Sakatia Lodge for guests who are staying the night. WiFi is available in the public areas as well as the bungalows. Guests that stay for the day can purchase WiFi for 10.000 MGA at the bar – 6 hours total, unlimited data.

Transfers

Can you pick me up from Fascene airport on Nosy Be?

Yes, we can pick you up from the airport. We will need to know the date & time of arrival and the airline company that you are flying with.

How do we get to Nosy Sakatia?

Point of embarkation to Nosy Sakatia is Chanty Beach on Nosy Be. From Fascene airport on Nosy Be it will take 45 minutes by car to get to Chanty Beach and then it will take 15 minutes by boat. From the port of Hell Ville it will take about 35 minutes by car to get to Chanty Beach.

Can I get a boat transfer from Ankify (mainland Madagascar)?

No, we do not have boat transfers from Ankify to Nosy Sakatia.

Can I arrange for a transfer from Antananarivo (capital of Madagascar) to Nosy Sakatia?

No, we do not have transfers from Antananarivo. You will have to fly with Air Madagascar from Ivato , Antananarivo to Fascene, Nosy Be.

I will arrive after 17h00 at the airport, can I still come to Nosy Sakatia or do I have to stay on Nosy Be?

Usually it is not a problem for us to pick you up from the airport even when your flight arrives later than 17h00. You will not have to spend a night on Nosy Be.

How will I recognise the transfer boat of Sakatia Lodge?

The transfer boat of Sakatia Lodge has the logo of Sakatia Lodge on the front of the boat. The name of the boat is Laka Be or Laka Vao.

What is Chanty Beach?

Chanty Beach on Nosy Be is the point of embarkation to Nosy Sakatia. Chanty Beach is really a beach, please be prepared to get your feet wet.

Can I pay with South African Rands (ZAR)?

No, you can’t pay with South African Rands at Sakatia Lodge or anywhere else in Madagascar.

Can I exchange South African Rands (ZAR) in Madagascar?

Yes,you can exchange South African Rands in Madagascar, but this is not advisable as the exchange rate is low.

Which currency should I bring to Madagascar?

You can bring euro of USD.

Can I pay with credit card at Sakatia Lodge?

Yes, you can pay with VISA or MASTER credit card. There is a surcharge of 3.5% on payments with a credit card.

Can I pay with a debit card at Sakatia Lodge?

Yes, you can pay with a Visa or Master debit card at Sakatia Lodge. There is a surcharge of 3.5% on payments with a debit card.

Can I pay with a Maestro card at Sakatia Lodge?

No, it is not possible yet to pay with a Maestro card at Sakatia Lodge.

What are the methods of payment at Sakatia Lodge?

You can pay with a Visa or Master credit 0r debit card (surcharge 3.5%) or with cash. We accept ariary (MGA), euro or USD. For euro and USD we daily post an exchange rate. Your change will be given in ariary.

Can I change money at Sakatia Lodge?

No, you cannot change money at Sakatia Lodge.

Do I need a visa to enter Madagascar?

Yes, you do need a visa to enter Madagascar. For 30 days it costs 25 euro per person in cash (in euro). You can purchase the visa at the airports of entry (Fascene, Nosy Be or Ivato, Antananarivo)

 

Diving and Snorkling

What is the water temperature?

The water temperature ranges from 26°C in winter (June, July) to 29°C in summer (December, January).

What kind of dive cylinders do you use?

We have steel dive cylinders (10 L, 12 L or 15 L).

Do you have Nitrox (EANx) available at the Dive Centre?

Yes, we do have Nitrox available at a surcharge.

Do you have snorkeling equipment available?

Yes, we do have snorkeling equipment available at the Dive Center. For guests who stay at the Lodge it is free of charge.
